Gold Meets Golden is a star-studded event platform bringing together Hollywood entertainers, professional athletes, medal-winning Olympians and enthusiastic partners to generate awareness and support for sports-related causes. Gold Meets Golden began as a lead-in featured party to the Golden Globe awards in 2013. It was elevated to an official Golden Globes after-party in 2014, and an Oscar weekend event in 2015. In 2017, Gold Meets Golden events celebrated the remarkable success of the 2016 US Olympians with past Olympic medalists and some of the biggest names of the Hollywood awards season.
A variety of Hollywood elite who are passionate about Sports and the Olympics are hosts of Gold Meets Golden. Past hosts and attendees have included Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Sofia Vergara, Matthew McConaughey, Hayden Panettiere, Chris Hemsworth, Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, Christian Slater, Katie Holmes, Chris Evans, Naomi Campbell, Gina Rodriguez, Matt Bomer, Jon Bon Jovi, Jessica Chastain, Seth Meyers, Maria Shriver, Frank Marshall & Kathleen Kennedy. In addition to private events, the athletes take part in the Official Golden Globes red carpet and show, where they were able to support Gold Meets Golden and its partners. Beyond awards shows, Gold Meets Golden has held satellite events throughout the year surrounding sports-related events and premieres, for example the premieres of Divergent and Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken films. Events are in the works to celebrate the sporting heroes of ‘Dancing with the Stars’; for the 2016 ESPY Awards; and Sports-related premieres in 2016.
